4. What are the STAY and AWAY buttons for ?

The Stay button is a quick way to turn on your system when you are inside the home. It will automatically bypass motion detector zones in your home.

The Away button is a quick way to turn on your system when no one will be left in your home or business. All motion detectors will be activated automatically. Please note that if anyone is still in the building and moving in any motion zone, you will not be able to turn on your system until those motion zones are clear of movement.

In order to activate either mode, you must press and hold the Stay or Away button for 3-4 seconds.

When you arm your system in the Away mode, you will hear the keypad beeping one beep per second during the exit time. During the last 10 seconds of the exit time, the keypad will beep 3 beeps per second to let you know that you are close to the end.

In the Stay mode, the keypad does not beep.

The red light on your keypad will be lit the entire time your system is armed in either the Stay or Away mode.

Please note that all the zones on your system must be closed and the green ready light must be lit on the keypad before you can arm your system.

5. How much time do I have to leave or enter the building ?

All of our systems are programmed so that you will have 45 seconds to exit the building and 30 seconds to enter the building and disarm the system.

There may be occasions and circumstances where the system has been programmed for either shorter or longer exit & entrance times. The installing technician would have recorded and conveyed this to the subscriber at the time of installation or programming.

6. How do I turn off my system ?

To turn off your system, simply enter your master code or any valid user code. There are no other buttons to press. If the system fails to turn off, the code entered was invalid.

7. How do I turn the chime on or off ?

Press and hold the Chime button for 3-4 seconds to either turn on or off the chime function. On this system, the chime will sound whenever the zone is opened or closed.

Remember that if any door or window are already opened for any particular zone, you will not hear the chime sound if you open any other door or window on that same zone.

8. How do I reset my smoke detector ?

Press and hold the Reset button for 3-4 seconds to reset the smoke detector(s) once smoke has cleared from the smoke detector area(s).

9. How do I use the panic buttons ?

If the panic buttons on the keypad are of the split-design, you must press and hold both buttons for 3-4 seconds. For single button design, press and hold the single panic button for 3-4 seconds.

The FIRE Panic button will cause the system to sound a 'Pulsed' siren sound.

The MEDICAL Panic button will cause the keypad to sound 3 beeps. There is no siren sound for a Medical alarm. After approximately 30-50 seconds, the keypad will sound back 9 beeps after having made a successful communication to the central station.

The POLICE Panic button will cause the system to sound a constant siren sound. Once the  POLICE Panic button is pressed and the siren sounds, there is no recourse to cancel the alarm with the central station. The central station will automatically dispatch the police authorities and will not call the premise telephone numbers. NAP operators, technicians, nor anyone else are able to cancel the police dispatch. You may call 911 yourself to let them know that the alarm was a mistake, but the authorities will come and will have to enter the building in order to insure everyone's safety. The POLICE Panic button is a powerful tool that must be used wisely.

If you have remotes/keyfobs with MEDICAL and/or POLICE panics built-in, they will behave in exactly the same way as the corresponding keypad buttons on your system, as described above.

10. What is the exit button for ?

When your system is armed in the Stay mode and you are in the home, you may exit after pressing the Exit button for 3-4 seconds. This will allow you a time-window of 2 minutes to exit using an entry/exit zone. Once the door is closed, the exit time will end immediately. If you attempt to re-enter the premises, the system will go into the entrance countdown-mode with a constant sound and you will need to enter a valid code to disarm the system.

11. What is the Instant mode and how do I arm my system that way ?

The Instant mode allows you to arm your system in the Stay mode but removes the entrance delay on your entry/exit zone(s). This mode is generally used for night-time arming for a personal residence. It allows for a total instant alarm on all zones on your system. The exit delay on your entry/exit zone(s) on your system will still be available.

Press  * 9  and enter your master or user code to arm your system in the Instant mode. The red light on your keypad will blink the entire time it is armed in this mode.

Please note that all the zones on your system must be closed and the green ready light must be lit on the keypad before you can arm your system.

12. I had an alarm on my system, how do I get rid of the extra symbols on my keypad?

The extra symbols/info on your keypad denotes that the memory of the alarm is still available to be viewed. The next time that you arm and disarm your system, the keypad will drop the memory of the alarm and your display will be cleared.

To view the alarm memory, press  * 3 and the zone(s) will be displayed.
     Press  # to exit.

13. What does the Trouble light mean ?

Your system is experiencing a trouble condition. To view the trouble condition(s), press  * 2 and follow the instructions below.
After you are done viewing the trouble(s), press  # to exit.

The control panel continuously monitors a number of possible trouble conditions. If one of these trouble conditions occur, the keypad will beep twice every 10 seconds until you press any key on the keypad.
