False Alarm Reduction Policy

 

 

 

  PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION CAREFULLY
TO ENSURE PROPER PROCEDURE WHEN AN ALARM OCCURS
 

 



1.   IN ORDER TO REDUCE FALSE ALARMS & TO MINIMIZE INCONVENIENCE TO ALL PARTIES CONCERNED, NATIONAL ALARM PROTECTION HAS UNDERTAKEN CERTAIN MEASURES TO ENSURE THAT POLICE, FIRE, AND MEDICAL AUTHORITIES ARE NOT DISPATCHED NEEDLESSLY.

2.   NATIONAL ALARM PROTECTION REQUIRES THAT AT LEAST 2 TELEPHONE NUMBERS BE CALLED BEFORE ANY RESPONDING AUTHORITIES ARE CALLED.

3.   AS ADDITIONAL PROTECTION, A CANCEL CODE IS SENT TO THE CENTRAL STATION WHENEVER A VALID USER CODE IS ENTERED TO TURN OFF YOUR SECURITY SYSTEM DURING AN ALARM. THIS INSTRUCTS THE CENTRAL STATION THAT YOUR ALARM WAS NOT LEGITIMATE AND THEREFORE, NO FURTHER ACTION WILL BE TAKEN BY THE CENTRAL STATION. DO NOT TURN OFF YOUR SECURITY SYSTEM IF YOU THINK THAT THE ALARM MAY BE A REAL BURGLARY IN PROGRESS.

4.   DURING AN ALARM, SHOULD THE SECURITY SYSTEM NOT BE TURNED OFF, THEN AFTER THE INITIAL SIGNALS ARE SENT, THE CENTRAL STATION WILL CALL ALL PREMISE TELEPHONE NUMBERS AS PREVIOUSLY MENTIONED. THEY WILL ATTEMPT TO DETERMINE IF THE ALARM IS VALID. THE PASSWORD THAT YOU SUBMITTED AT INITIAL ACTIVATION OF YOUR SYSTEM, IS THE ONLY VALID RECOURSE TO CANCEL THE ALARM WITH THE CENTRAL STATION AT THIS POINT.

5.   IF ANY POLICE PANIC ALARM IS INITIATED FROM A KEYPAD OR THRU A KEYFOB REMOTE, THE CENTRAL STATION WILL ONLY CALL THE AUTHORITIES AND THERE WILL BE A POLICE RESPONSE. THERE IS NO RECOURSE TO CANCEL THIS KIND OF ALARM WITH THE 911 AUTHORITIES. THEREFORE, IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT ALL SUBSCRIBERS TAKE CAUTIONARY MEASURES TO PREVENT ANY FALSE POLICE PANIC ALARM.

6.   IT IS THE SUBSCRIBER'S RESPONSIBILITY TO OVERSEE THE TELEPHONE LINE CONNECTION RELIABILITY TO THE CENTRAL STATION OF NATIONAL ALARM PROTECTION, INC.
